TRAVEL TO THE PHILIPPINES STEP BY STEP GUIDE 2025 - International Airport Procedures

What exactly are the procedures if you want to travel to the Philippines?

In all my experiences before, I have never had encountered a problem at any international airports because in every corner of them has a signage that we can follow very easily.

These are the NEW ENTRY GUIDELINES/REQUIREMENTS of the Philippines for INBOUND FOREIGN TRAVELERS:

1) Passports valid for at least six (6) months at the time of arrival;

2) Return or outbound tickest to the country of origin or next country of destination (those availing of Balikbayan Privilege are exempted from this requirement);

The Balikbayan Program as instituted by Republic Act 6768 (amended by Republic Act 9174) was launched by the Philippine Government to attract and encourage overseas Filipinos to come and visit their motherland. The following are considered balikbayans:

  • Filipino citizens who have been continuously out of the Philippines for a period of at least one (1) year;
  • Filipino overseas workers;
  • Former Filipino citizens who had been naturalized in one of the listed countries, and who comes or returns to the Philippines. If the country of citizenship is not listed, the balikbayan must apply for a Philippine visa.

Accompanying foreign spouse and children may avail of the Balikbayan Program, provided they are citizens of the listed countries and traveling with the former-Filipino balikbayan. If the country of citizenship is not listed, the foreign spouse and children must apply for a Philippine visa.

3) Registered on the eTravel portal at least 72 hours prior to arrival in the Philippines (registration is free of charge);

4) Valid visas

Holders of passports of the following jurisdictions do not require a visa for Philippines:

Foreign nationals from countries not listed in the table are required to apply for a visa at the Philippine Embassy in their country of residence before traveling to the Philippines.

NOTE:

  • NO NEED TO APPLY FOR A VISA IF TRAVELLING TOGETHER WITH FILIPINA SPOUSE UNDER THE BALIKBAYAN PROGRAM
  • IF FILIPINA SPOUSE OR MINOR CHILD IS IN THE PHILIPPINES, A VISA MUST BE APPLIED
  • THE INFORMATION PROVIDED ABOVE IS BASED ONLY ON MY RESEARCH. FOR YOU TO BE SURE IF YOU NEED VISA OR NOT, PLEASE CONTACT THE NEAREST PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN YOUR COUNTRY
